We all want children who enjoy going to sleep every night. I hear from many parents that this feels impossible or that they simply don’t know where to start. That’s where I come in. My name is Brittney McCarthy and I have been successfully providing families with more sleep since 2013. I develop plans specifically for you and your child to help you both get the sleep you deserve. Between my gentle sleep plan methods and support, you will no longer feel alone in achieving what was previously thought to be impossible.

Newborn Starter Plan

Age 0-12 weeks

Unfortunately, newborns do not come into the world sleeping well. This starter plan will build the foundational skills needed for your baby to be a successful sleeper. We will focus on age appropriate wake-times and full feedings, whether breast or bottle-fed. For optimal success, make sure to follow up with a sleep package after twelve weeks of age.

*A $50 credit will rollover into any purchased sleep package.

About

This journey started during my 35th week of pregnancy with my first child. I knew I wanted to make sleep a priority for my child but wasn't sure of the approach I wanted to use.  One day my husband's co-worker says to him, "hey you should sleep train your daughter when she's born, we sleep trained our son and he sleeps 12 hours at night and he's only 3 months old."  That was it, I was hooked.  I began gentle methods at birth and was full-on training her at around 2 weeks old. By 12 weeks she was sleeping in her own bed and sleeping 12 hours at night.  I chose not to use CIO methods.  She was the happiest baby anyone had ever met (so I was told).  Not only did she sleep well, but she ate well and was and has always been really well behaved.  I truly believe her healthy sleeping habits provided a foundation for positive results in the other areas.  My friends and family also noticed the difference and wanted that for their children as well.  This further lead me toward the next step of sleep training other children for friends and family.  I have now made my way into becoming a certified sleep consultant by Sleep Baby Sleep.  I also have a BA in Education along with classes in early education. I taught preschool for 5 years. I love children and I LOVE sleep. With #butfirstsleep it is possible to have a happy, healthy baby who LOVES sleep as well.

As first time parents, we had no idea what it was going to be like to care for a newborn. EVERYONE told us to brace ourselves for no sleep and exhausting lives for the first few months. We thought going with the flow and letting baby Penelope cry when she was hungry or tired was how it was supposed to be. That’s even what they tell you at the hospital so we thought, great, I guess this is just how things are going to be. We have a fussy baby and that’s that.

We were beyond exhausted. We felt like we couldn’t go anywhere or get anything done, fearing that Penelope wouldn’t do well. We had no routine or schedule and baby Penelope could not sleep and get well rested on her own. We started to worry and think, something isn’t right. I talked with Brittney one day and asked her if all babies were fussy? And when was it going to end? I didn’t know if what we were going through was normal. I knew she had first hand experience and worked with babies all the time. She asked me if I had heard of sleep training and she proceeded to tell me how amazing it would be and how it would benefit Penelope and our family.

At first I was like yeah sure, why not, I’ll try anything at this point. My husband was a bit skeptical because of the all the different sleep training methods that he had heard of. The more we started looking into it, the more questions we had and we also started hearing stories from all these parents with well-behaved babies and how it all started with sleep training. We were getting no sleep ourselves and I was going back to work soon so I knew something had to be done. I met with Brittney the next day, I was desperate. We started right away, Brittney created a custom sleep plan that fit our schedule. The first few days were hard for me because I had to be consistent and I wasn’t used to that.

Now I look back and think it was the greatest decision we ever made. Everyone always tells us how happy and well behaved Penelope is and we love seeing our baby girl well rested and always smiling at everyone! No one believes me when I tell them that she falls asleep on her own, in her own room with no fussiness at all. Of course we have a baby monitor to keep an eye on her while she is in her crib but other than that, all she needs is to be left alone, comfy and unbothered. It still amazes me everyday!

Brittney helped us sleep train our third daughter JayaRose. She wasn’t sleeping well like the first two kids did and we were having a hard time as she was already four months old and waking up every 3 hours. Within one week of sleep training Jaya started sleeping first 6 hours and then all the way up to 10 hours. Brittney’s guidance in helping us get our second son to sleep was amazing. Our first son was an excellent sleeper so we had no idea how to even start with our second. I was nervous the training might not work because he was 12 months old and I felt that he had such a strong dependency on his bottle and being held to sleep that there was no way I’d ever be able to put him down awake and he’d put himself to sleep, but it happened! After 4 days he was sleeping through the night 7pm - 6am consistently! Throughout the week it took less and less time for him to fall asleep at night and if he’d fuss, he would settle himself. Brittney helped so much with getting my one year old on a better sleep schedule. I was waking up three-four times a night nursing her to get her back to sleep! For that reason, she ended up in bed with my husband and I a lot and I really wanted to change this. Once Brittney sent me the sleep schedule, it took only three days before she was sleeping through the night (no waking at all!) Brittney helped us get our first baby in a great schedule(feeding and sleeping). We learned good habits to start with our baby boy and the benefits of a well-rested baby. It was hard work but totally worth it and brought a sense of normalcy back to our lives after this huge adjustment to being parents. He started sleeping 12 hours around 3.5 months, and his naps were always the same time every day. Our son is two now and still an awesome sleeper. He knows he schedule better than I do sometimes, and I love it! It’s never a guess when his nap time is or his bed time. I love how I can plan my day and still have outings but still give my son the rest and sleep he needs. Brittney was so awesome and always responded to my questions and concerns quickly. She was always available in the beginning with the help I needed, and throughout his first year when we had to drop naps and change wake times. Due with baby number two in a couple weeks and hope to continue with the same type of routine and sleep schedule for baby girl. I know I’ll be hitting up Brittney for a refresher course of the early months.

Brittney is my sleep hero. I was not knowledgeable in sleep training. I thought the only method was cry it out and just couldn’t bring myself to do that to my little baby girl. At 3 months I went back to work. My first week wasn’t bad (we bed shared and she nursed all night) but it wasn’t quality sleep and her naps during the day were horrific. Brittney had offered her methods, so I took her up on it. In less than one week Emily was putting herself to sleep for naps and sleeping from 7pm to 7am in her own room. She taught us how to make a happy baby and we love her for that. Brittney has always been there for me to adjust the schedule and feedings when needed. We are almost to 11 months and she still sleeps through the night she has 8 teeth and we barely have noticed any issues with teething (I owe this to the sleep). People won’t believe you when you tell them your baby sleeps all night! Brittney’s knowledge of sleep training is right on. Whenever I needed an updated sleep schedule she had one put together and it was amazing how quickly it worked for my baby. My almost 2 year old has slept through the night since he was tiny.
